Example A: ORIGINAL TUNNEL-TYPE MRI WITH HIGH-FIELD MAGNETIC STRENGTH: About nine out of ten MRI machines, now in use, require the patient to slide head-first into a narrow metal tunnel. Those units produce high quality images, but the enclosed tunnels causes "anxiety-related reactions" in up to 30% of patients, according to a recent study in the Journal of American Medical Association.

Example B: OPEN-TYPE MRI WITH LOW-FIELD MAGNETIC STRENGTH: Some MRI machines have open sides and ends. Those "open" units have low strength magnets (only one-twentieth as powerful as the tunnel-type magnet at Example A, and one sixth as the new advanced Open-MRI at Example C). The low-magnet strength results in lower quality images with less detail, providing less of the information doctors need for diagnosis.

Example C: OPEN MRI WITH MID-FIELD MAGNETIC STRENGTH: The Open-MRI at Simi Health Center is completely open to eliminate claustrophobia. In addition, its magnet is six times stronger than most other open MRI's, resulting in greater image detail, equal to that of the tunnel-type units.
